Cornucopian comments on Deep Ecologist

     As it can be seen in the Deep Ecologist view on Communism and Capitalism, they do support the way Communism work; therefore, it can be stated that our thoughts are the other way around. As a Cornucopian we support in a manageable way the way Capitalists governments run certain situations. Even though both systems to some extent manage societies from an economics perspectives, it can be argued that Capitalism by running under a free-market economy are the ones tending to portray a more sustainable development towards the environment but still taking into advantage the use of technological devices. Deep ecologist think that a government leading with capitalism would not be able to have control over the use of technology and goods, still it can be argued that a capitalist government do have the power to control this situations. A capitalist government is like in the United States, is able to control the use of technology by implementing protectionism policies, such as a fiscal policy which tends to deal with taxes, as well as a monetary policies that deals with money supply and interest rates. Both policies, might be used by a capitalist government to implement restrictions to the way the country uses technology, therefore a sustainable development is possible to happen. It is true that in the capitalism countries there are huge gaps between the poorest people an the richest; however this doesn´t impact the environment directly; as it can be sustained that in a capitalism economy, rich people during the last decades have been able to invest in researches to come out with substitutes for goods that use to damage the environment; as it can be seen in the graph below. This graph basically shows the oil deficit in the last century, it can be supported that the trade oil have go down since the year 1990 which had a deficit of 1, and in year 2008 the deficit decreased to -5, as free market countries because of their power have been able to come up with substitutes that are more environmental friendly. 

On the other hand it can be analyze the carbon dioxide emissions as it worries to the deep ecologists. In the table below it can be observed the carbon dioxide emissions per person in the population of the given countries .The United States as a capitalist country is the one that emits more carbon dioxide per person, however it is one of the countries that is more stable economically. Even though carbon dioxide is green house gas that will contribute to the green house effect and harm the future in the planet it is what keeps this country stable and strong economically. Therefore we as cornucopias believe that we should focus on what benefits us today rather that see if its sustainable for the future. 

 

As seen in the image below capitalist is the economy that will keep the world stable and progressing. The image below shows a message that Steve Forbes transmit. Steve Forbes has been candidate for the US election twice therefore we can tell that he will focus on what is best for the countries focusing on the economy since he has a master on business.It is evident that the capitalist country focus on the progress of the world in terms of economic factors. Later on there would be technological advances that will help us survive both in terms of environmental and economic factors.
