ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGERS RESPONSE TO DEEP ECOLOGISTS

First of all, neither capitalism of communism are not ways of government, they are economic systems that a government either totalitarian or federal or any other kind of government could applied on the people.

We strongly disagree with deep ecologists as they claim that communism is an economic system that take cares of the environment more than capitalism. As environmental manager we have proof that communism is not an economic system that takes care more than capitalism. The most clear example of this is the Popular Republic of China, as we said in our response. China as a communist country his main expenses are for nonrenewable energy sources like coal and oil. This is because they only care about keep their production getting stronger for their economy to grow exponentially as well as their over population. Deep ecologists say that capitalist countries do not control birth rate and overpopulation, nevertheless China as a communist country in the XXI Century has the biggest population on the planet and keeps growing.

Taking about their resources, China has the capacity of use renewable sources like wind energy, solar energy and hydro. But they do not use their resources because their only purpose is to keep growing their economy. Below there is a graph that shows the energy sources that China uses.

Something that we as environmental managers partially agree with is that, capitalists countries waste resources. Capitalist countries seek for competition and the creation of factories and massive production, economy is usually the number one concern for a capitalist country. An example can be considered USA which is a capitalist country that doesn't sign the Treaty of Kyoto because their pollution is extremely high due to their industrialization. This will be evidenced in the graph below.

USA, located in north america, is and will be responsible for most of the CO2 emissions in the world along with Emerging Asia.

As Environmental Manages we partially agree the statements Deep Ecologists mention.
